I'm most interested in who the AFC team would be. As far as Dallas, Jones will overpay so sure, rock on with that one. Hopefully the AFC team and Dallas want him bad enough to compete.

No, but he can refuse to sign a long term deal with the new team...which in most cases would kill any deal. I dont know of any team that would be willing to pay him $17 million for one year and then see him move on or have to deal with the same shit we are going through with him.

yes, definitely. And I would franchise him no matter what - this is what this looks like, a strongarm "I'm going to try to ruin my trade value so you won't go through with it" ideal. But, like I said, I expect his ideals will become a lot looser if it means getting a deal done.

Dallas doesn't have enough ammo. Based on the Geep Chryst - authored chart, the difference between a mid-first and a mid-2nd is more than the value of the 2nd, plus the 2nd. Which is essentially insurmountable with just a 3, 4, and so on. It's not possible to trade a 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 in the same range for the 1st only.

And I can't think of a player they have we'd need. They won't give up Ware, and I'm not interested in backups who have had chances to play and haven't earned them like Carpenter.

    No to Owens.

I guess if we had to have a player out of the deal, and assuming Witten also wasn't available, it'd be nice to have Greg Ellis, maybe Anthony Spencer, AND Marcus Spears. Ellis would fit just fine as a right end, Spears could be a serviceable one gap tackle. Spencer is a solid rushing talent but doesn't fit exceptionally well, you could play him in situations.

It would, to me, take all three plus the 2, 3, and so on to sniff anywhere near a first/3rd/5th type situation, and even then I don't feel great about the value. But in doing so, at least we'd have a veteran rusher, a young guy that could replace him, and a DT who people one thought could be a good rusher. Which would take care of some needs.

yes, that'd look like a ridiculous trade. No, that's not plausible or likely. And I haven't even looked at their salaries (or, rather, Ellis' salary, since the other two are playing on rook contracts, and only Spears' would likely have much heft to it) to see if we would take them on. But that's what it'd take to get Peppers from us without a 1st round pick - something really kinda fucking ridiculous (plus 2nd/3rd/4th, etc).

    don't forget future picks too.

Would you take the Cowgirls 2nd and 3rd this year and a 1st and 3rd next year?

The Owens part was pure fodder. You would have to think the Cowboys would want to get rid of a huge salary and commo position to take on a contract like peppers will get. As much as I want some proven talent in the names mentioned I'd rather get as many draft picks as possible. I'd also take less talent from a non NFCS team rather than having to face Peppers twice a year

Don't drag this out too long. The longer it happens the more muddied the situation gets and the less we get for him

but hes already fucking us being able to get anything for him-just not worth the hassle at this point

i say put a bounty on his ass-he took money for 7 years and now he repays the team by being a douche bag, hurting the ability for his other fellow players to get good players to replace him
