He needs to play at a high level for several more years to get in. If he ends up his career with sack totals around what Bruce Smith and Reggie White put up then yes he will probably get in eventually. I doubt he is going to ever be a first ballot type guy though.

Nope. His story hasn't changed -- his heart doesn't measure up to his ability. For the guys in the HoF, the opposite is true -- as talented as they are, their hearts are even greater.

Last year, Ross Tucker (SI/Sirius analyst) posted this on Twitter:

"One day, down the road, Peppers will wake up and realize he could've been one of the best ever."

    I agree with him.

The hall of fame is not about heart. It's about statistics.

If he extrapolates his production of his best years over the next 6-7 years, and wins a Super Bowl, he will be mentioned. And playing in a major market helps his chances.

That said, I don't really care.

Ok, point taken. Heart helps good players become great, which leads to stats, which helps teams win titles, which ultimately lands you in the HOF.

But, it's not a 50/50 split in importance when the voters look at the candidates. Otherwise, Jake would be first ballot. Unfortunately, his suckage at times prevents that.

Speaking of Jake--watched Super Bowl 38 last night. Fun. Jake played out of his fucking head in that second half. We're Carolina, and the media could care less, but that was one of the most amazing QB performances in 30 minutes of Super Bowl football in NFL history.

Then, he just caught the gay.
