    I'm allright with him not being a mauler, but he could at least stop guys in their tracks. He consistently gets too much drop, and then he's back on his heels and doesn't anchor. He's got the tools.


    Somewhat complacency, so we all hear. He doesn't like lifting, he's goofy and aloof. He won't just get mean. He cares, but he doesn't live it.


    Can't explain it at all.


    Yep. Not that, for instance, Montgomery couldn't be a decent guard. He's got the tools, and was a steal. But Mathis was a better prospect and he has better tools. They're about equal now, and with linemen it's often less of a "pay for what you get" issue, but Mathis should grow into something greater.

    Hangartner: some people don't go into serious mode until the recording (red) light comes on. They will never be practice heros.

    Gross: whether or not he likes it, he's being paid a ton and could be paid two tons if he'd just hit the weights and get even 10-15% stronger. Time for him to grow the fuck up, people are counting on him (and I don't mean fans).
