Panthers vs Redskins Running Commentary

What a great game. Only two bad plays:

The long TD to Jackson, being covered by Jones (wtf?)

The 99 yd KO ret TD.

Aside from those two plays, they did nothing of note.

One thing we need to do pretty quick is fix our coverage/nickle-dime package should the 1 or 2 corners go down.

Jones is a good role player, but a terrible liability in coverage.

 

Funchess looks like Cotchery`s little brother.

 

Funchess has been a pleasant surprise as of late and looks to be better than I gave him credit for initially. In fact, the whole team has, even in the face of the injuries and backups having to play.

I love the coaching staff as well.

Somebody tell Gano to never kick that shit short again.


In other news, Zona is pretty good.

It would be nice to make Romo look very below average on Thanksgiving.

 

It would have made zero difference given that holding doesn't end the play. Technically the Panthers could have tackled all the Racistnames and held them down until the clock ran out. You would have still needed one play after that, but no more. It's really weird that a team who got blown out blamed the loss on officiating.

 

The argument out of Redskins country is that the negated TD return blunted their momentum. If one play traumatized you into such an awful performance, then you never had a chance to begin with.

Pretty surprising outcome. Offense really played well. I'm pressed we were able to move the ball that well. Cam played nicely. If you look at his overall numbers compared to Cousins, Kirk actually had a better completion percentage but just had so many turnovers. Stewart looked faster than I remember


Colin Jones on Desean Jackson was a nightmare for everyone. That is an issue. Going forward this week again with Tillman out its going to be tough. I also think Benwikere plays much better on the outside than he does in the slot. Looked good.

 

Nickle is such a hard position to play now.

 

You're the second person to say this and it is so, so wrong. Benwikere looks good covering horizontally or coming forward. He is beyond awful at covering receivers downfield, which you have to do more often on the outside than you do versus slot receivers.
