And it was over the top coverage as well. It was underthrown, into coverage.

Jake played bad. Real bad. Just pressing the ball down the field when it wasn't needed.

the ball was thrown up...very much like the one on the offsides where Smitty actually went up and caught the ball out of bounds, except Smitty was one on one this time....he should have been looking for the ball...this was not a 10 or 20 yard out pattern....it was a jump ball...which is not a great idea with a 5'10" WR, but neither of them called the play...that was Henning.

If someone beats your man by ten yards and the ball is underthrown, I feel sorry for the guy for getting called out for not adjusting to it. Jeez.

Either way, Smitty had him beat. Adjusting or not, Jake should have thrown it better. I find it hard to blame Smitty when he beat his guy.

That's what I saw too. Throw to the corner of the EZ and it's maybe 6.

I can get behind that.....perhaps....Ill go look at it again, to be sure. Thought it was a corner route. If Im wrong, Ill say. But Henning shouldnt have called a jump ball, thats for damn sure. Too damn risky when our D was playing like it had.

Smitty had him beat - by a couple yards. That's great, and it's on Jake for the throw, but you don't just stand there and expect the ball to magically change direction, you go after that fucking thing. it's Jake's throw, I don't know why people are pretending that anyone's saying otherwise.

And yeah, Henning's stupid like that. Call a bomb almost every time we have a turnover.

Yep. But I also feel I need to state that in no way do I feel like Weinke should be the starter next week. Just that Jake's decisions have to get better, much better.

Not pretending. Hammer said the INT was Smitty's fault for running a sloppy go route.

I agree with Hammer a lot, just not on this one. TEchnically, it would be hard to run a sloppy go route. Im just saying it wasnt Smitty's fault. End of that. Im not trying to make a big deal of it, but I guess I am.

And having beaten his man, the defender was between Smith & Jake and being as small as he is, I have to wonder if Smitty even saw the ball was going to be that short until he leaped at which point it's too late to adjust. Dunno, but even if you give a 1/2 int to Smitty, it sure doesn't absolve Jake of a really bad day.

Nope. And no one's trying to do so.
