    Dan Morgan: 14 total tackles.

Didn't he leave in the 3rd? Jesus, what a beast.

Jake still deserves the lion's share of the blame for those picks. I noticed and mentioned the bull rush, and I could speculate that Proehl ran outside when Jake threw inside on a combo route.

Doesn't matter. Still made the throws. Still made the decisions.

You could also argue that JD was missing his 2nd WR (Colbert) and his 2nd leading receiver and 3rd down back (Foster). You could say he had no run game to help.
But you don't win games on excuses.

Hey, I agree about Jake still being the starter. He just had a shitty day, but he'll work it out. I love Jake; everyone has days like this one.

Weinke is hell on midwestern teams. LOL

That was not, and never will be SMitty's fault. Jake underthrew it. Plain and simple. Smitty had him beat for the corner route. Smitty cant be blamed for beating his man so bad, that he struggled coming back to play DB....

He's had bad games a lot this year. The last thing I want to see is him suck badly enough to have us calling for Weinke, but if he doesn't tighten it up there will be more of that.

Hmm, Jake got a wakeup call from Weinke, Weinke got confidence, the team got some in him... and we won a game that was all but thrown away.

Lots of bad things, but some bottom line positives all around except Morgan.

It was a sub-par performance. No doubt.

But one pick was to Smitty on a go. Smitty made no effort to get the ball.

The other two were bad on Jake. But it was not his worst game as a pro. I can name 5 other games where he played worse.

IMHO, Smitty rounded out his route. Got too wide on the sideline, and never came back to the ball. Blame Henning for calling that play, but all Jake is supposed to do there it toss it up and let Smitty go get it. Smitty didn't go for the ball. Check the tape.

Now, the other two were on Jake.

Hammer, Im actually shocked Smittys getting any blame for that. He made no effort because he was behind the db. He had him beat. Watch Smitty, he was gunning for the outside, which is where the ball shouldve been thrown.

    It wasnt Smitty's fault.

yeah, I don't care if you've beaten your man by 10 yards, you still have to adjust to the ball. The go route's the most free to get under a ball. Smitty gave up position.

I just gotta add that type note in there, because I can say "fuck Delhomme for all that stupid shit" in every thread but this one, but if I agree without saying it was also on Jake, somebody'll end up bitching.

Now, we can agree with the way the game was going, Henning shouldnt have called that. At least, try to drive and get a FG. Go for the throat when we got them up by a TD.

BUt yeah, I checked it, and Smitty was rounding out, because I believe in certainty, that it was supposed to be going to the corner where if anyone had a chance for the ball, it would be Smitty with body control.....I mean, I could be wrong, but either way.....I like gutsiness, but we were gutsy in silly situaions IMO.
