Panthers vs Lions Running Commentary

Jason Garrett was fired two weeks ago.

Now, he’s got the inside track on a home playoff game. And a defense that doesn’t fuck around against big-time offenses.

I just read we’ve scored 13 points in the third quarter so far this year.

I don’t know what to make of that, other than it fucking sucks dick.

 

Jim Bob Cooter did some deep-dickin’ on Eric/Ron/whoever fucking runs the defense. They were giving up 6-8 sacks a game lately and they got back to the basics—without Golden Tate or Marvin Jones. It was simple shit, but it was really good shit.

I'm actually going to be a dick here because I think it's valuable. You need to keep progressing. Being "in the hunt" is no longer good enough. It was good enough five years ago. Now you have a franchise quarterback and one of the best defensive players in football. You've made the playoffs 4/5 years. Being "in the hunt" is no longer an acceptable threshold, unless you want to end up like the Falcons.


When you have an old defensive coach like Ron, who's ultra conservative on 4th down and apparently forbids the no huddle offense until the team is losing in the fourth quarter, you're bringing a knife to a gunfight. I'm sorry. I love Ron, but I can't keep denying where the league is heading.

 

I don’t see any sort of identity with our defense. It’s a damn shame, because there are lotta good pieces. DT play has really fucked us on both runs and allowing big pass plays.

 

And I love the offense. Norv did some really cool things for a few weeks. Do you shit the bed early on in last weeks loss, and he called a vanilla one today. Where the fuck is the misdirection? The O we saw against Baltimore and Tampa was a clinic.

 

Subtract about 40% of what I'm saying because I'm really, really, really, really pissed off tonight. A good 40% of what I'm saying is just venting. I'll be back for the Seahawks game because I'm a cuckold who can't help himself.

 

Agreed. It's like we run two different offenses. One for home and one on the road. It's ridiculous.
