I don’t see us matching up very well with either LA or New Orleans. But I also thought we would get killed in New Orleans last year in the playoffs.

Sitting in the stands against Tampa a few weeks ago—It was jarring to see how bad the defense lapsed through the third and fourth quarter. And on the last drive before half. Just stupid shit.

Giving up too many damn points. And not generating timely takeaways. We did against the Eagles at the end, but not before we gave up a 60 yard penalty.

Those coaches exist. Lincoln Riley would be a slam dunk. So would Dabo for that matter. So would Jim Fucking Harbaugh, for that fucking matter. The only reason Jim Harbaugh isn't still kicking ass in the NFL is because the league's archaic, front office structure slandered him out of the league. Most GMs don't want to work with a talented head coach because they're insecure faggots who don't want to engage in power struggles.

I’ll roll with your opinion. You’re usually right about this shit.

I was on board with treating that Pittsburgh loss as a garbage game. Toss the film out and fucking forget about it. But it underscored some serious deficiencies. I fully expected this team on three extra days rest to come in here and absolutely maul them to death. We’ve carelessly sacrificed our own identity in two short weeks.

It was a team effort loss today. All 3 phases had a hand in it.

Baltimore had a #1 defense, and we shredded them to death. But not with 38 passes and 16 runs. That game was Cam utilization at it’s finest. I’m concerned about where that’s gone.

We almost lost to the Giants (we did give them their first 30 point output since 2015). It took a historic come back to steal one from Philly. The Buccaneers almost pulled a ‘92 Bills on us.

    Strange times.

Well I think the problem is even worse than I'm describing. The Panthers can't catch, tackle, block, or kick. They're a team back to square one just with basic fundamentals. I'm focusing on the macro, but this team is poorly constructed on the micro. Teams have been getting massive gains against us on very basic plays. People are forgetting that we have brand new position coaches on defense. There's clearly flaws in what we're doing on a positional level.

You’re absolutely right. The breakdowns this defense has showed in those close wins are elementary level miscues. I loved being at the Tampa game for win. But I was very disturbed by some of the long yardage coverage gaffes.

There’s no easy game on that schedule. Cleveland is a much more formidable challenge than Detroit. As long as Fitzpatrick starts, there’s four touchdowns.

I always enjoy being in the playoff hunt. You know, I know there’s the joke about the hats and T-shirts, but I do value those things. Getting into the tournament is successful milestone for any season. At the same time, I’m fully aware we don’t have what it takes to win it all this year without some luck.
