I would understand doing it for a knee issue. It's a rib injury. We're not jeopardizing his career by playing him. It's an overly-conservative measure by a coach who just landed a big contract extension. Follow protocol and you'll have an excuse after the fact.

 

I forget who, someone here has had cracked ribs, besides me. Mine were cracked in the front, I am thinking maybe his are nearer his spine, in the rear since that's where he was kneed. It needs to heal, as inconvenient as that is.

B&B, you think he was getting hit at practice? I wasn't there but am guessing no way. And they still held him out a lot. I think Rivera is doing the right thing. I mean, I wish he could play. I wish he'd have gone through OTAs with the new WRs too for that matter.

Maybe if they had addressed the offensive tackle position, it would be a better risk but whoever is back there will be running for their life.
