anywhere I lay my head I'm gonna call my home
Seward stands out. He's my ace this week. Looked almost explosive out there, got to the ball quickly. Wasn't he playing weakside? I'm guessing he's our 6th LB, and we choose from amongst Ciurciu and Tufts (unless Short starts the season on PUP), but that we don't make that choice this week. Tufts and Ciurciu, I don't know that it'll matter.

Haye finally showed up big, and Ellison showed a little something. I don't know how Carstens made this squad last year, and I wasn't a fan of him at all, especially getting abused against the run, but somehow he stays 2nd string, and somehow he gets better.
BTW, seeing McKinley out there reminds me that all those pics we bitched about back when, weren't so bad. We didn't give some of those guys time to grow - him, and Kyle Johnson being another that starts now that shouldn't have been so easily given up. I liked mcKinley's body lean and power as a DT when he was here, but he had to put it together. You give a guy like that more than one year as a 3rd stringer and then a preseason to be good.

Davis was better this week, and he's right when he says he's more comfortable at safety. Didn't like the one play against the TE around the weak side, in that he got position to one side and simply chose wrong.

Minter made some plays out there. Nice. Also, McCree was knocking heads out there. Gamble's going to handle well being the guy that gets thrown at, but Manning might struggle with it. Didn't get a feel for Bashir. Wesley makes this squad.

We knew about Robertson. He makes it. Wish he'd looked a little better in his early couple carries, because that's when he was out with/against real players.
Sorry Rod, but if it makes you feel better, you're not the only guy named Rod packing his bags this week. Hope the ST units don't suffer, because I agree with WP that Hankton might not be on this year's squad. Will Ross? He's not been incredible.

Foster looked great before the fumble, and somehow simply weaved through traffic. He had good averages, not incredible ones, but he ran with an authority inside that I enjoyed. I'm not gushing like he's going to be the franchise, but I like our offense with him in it, and we open up with him in it.

Didn't notice the OTs much in the game, will watch the tape, but did notice the guard and center play somewhat, and happy with our pulling. We didn't often give ground to anyone unless it was a blitz we just weren't accounting for.

Weinke isn't accurate. He needs to get that together, because he just wasn't efficient this preseason. Good when it mattered, at times, but not efficient, and you can't win games with this formula without being both the efficient Jake and the playmaking Jake.

Foster running to the left, holding the ball in his right hand, not like a loaf of bread but with the hand curl away from his body. Scary stuff. Saw him do that last week but he got away with it then.

I can't say I'm very optimistic after getting to watch them for the first time last night. The defense seems to be nothing terribly special.

Most of the chat is exactly chat. What people are having for dinner, things like GOOD PLAY!, or whatever. Not much substance. Mostly just fun. And it would be very very long. I'm not criticising the chat. Im just saying that's not the place people usually put their observations.

No that's true, but that's half the fun. I was robbed of two pages of WTF WAS THAT CALL when we got called for roughing the passer.

the best last night (of which you were also robbed) was when they flashed a fan cam picture of some young bare chested boy who had a very girly looking face, several people commented. the gist of all the comments was also WTF was that?
