That's one school of thought. I think we would have had a better chance of getting a TD and a FG with -8:31, rather than getting two touchdowns when we don't convert on 4th and 13. We just gave up way too much yardage and time on defense.

I dont mind challenges if were using them in plavce of a time out if we think we need one. But he has made some very poor challenges.

    Agreed.

The field goal under 2 minutes from just over 40 yards would have pulled it to one possession. You have to get an onside kick back anyway, so IMO, you cut it to one possession ASAP, and try the onside. Worry about the TD later.

It's like the whole "go for two" argument. When to, and when not to.

True, but only because neither is going to happen. The game was more or less over once we settled for the field goal, and it certainly would have been over if we had tried on 4th down and failed.

You have to look at the way the game was going to that point. Its precisely why I hated it when we ran the quarterback sneak up the gut with Delhomme vs. the Lions when we couldnt get a yard with a running back. (Think it was the Lions, I could be wrong, but Im too lazy to go to the schedule and find out who it was). We couldnt move the damn ball. When we at least had a chance, which we seldomly did all game long, we kick. That was crap.

Dude, you're so wrong that it's ridiculous. Chicago only attempted 26 passes and we probably blitzed on half of them or more. I have to give the Bears credit for anticipating it and getting the ball out quickly.

Bottom line we needed two scores. When we kicked the FG, we still needed two scores. It was the wrong thing to do.
