    9 rushes, - 5 yds, 2 fumbles, 1 lost. Hell of a stat line.

All of these announcers talk to players and coaches before every game without cameras or microphones present. It's not unimaginable at all the somebody told him that. Whether he's good at his job or not, has nothing to do with it.

The beat reporters wouldn't neccessarily be able to report something like that even if they knew it was true. Remember, they have to be careful what they say if they want to continue to have access to the team...Baldinger doesn't have that problem.

Yas is openly disputing Baldinger's statement that Carr was not Fox's choice. A comment to his blog says that Baldinger meant TODAY. He wanted Vinny to start today. Now that would be something that was true, and that would make sense to Baldy as something relevant to anything.

really, when the guy can't keep the players straight as to which team they play for or what game they're playing in it's hard to believe he's Scoop Baldinger ace reporter.

Well, my feet were on tv. We saw the news after the game when some guy was going around putting numbers up and when they put #8 up on rails in the stadium, those brown boots were mine. Don't have any idea what the story was because we had tv volume off fearing they'd TALK about the game. I knew there were two tv guys in front of us and joked they were filming my feet and they wound up getting them in!! Well, it's more exciting then the damned game was.

Pretty much every time he was upright. No, they weren't a great offense or even a good one, but he was a solid player there.
Maybe because I have a fully functioning brain? How stupid do you have to be to realize that it makes no sense to think that Fox would have opposed bringing in Carr given that we had plenty of cap space and everyone thought Carr would be an upgrade back then? I guess I'm basically asking how stupid you are, because I have no way to measure that precisely. Obviously I know that you're stupid, just not how stupid.
See, this statement is obviously stupid because even an idiot would instinctively understand that Baldinger would feel like proposing "scoops" such as this would boost his importance, but exactly how stupid is it? And for the record, chief, it has been noted on previous occasions that Baldinger made claims that had no basis in reality. Even if you weren't too dumb to realize that his "scoop" made no sense, you should have been able to recognize that A) he wouldn't be in a position to know what he claimed anyway, and B) he's the type of guy who will just randomly say things to seem more significant.

I think Baldinger's motivation was that 1. he had to say something to fill the time, and there was nothing to say, and 2. he felt sorry for Fox.

For those not attending (lucky SOBs) they did not introduce players individually for the Panthers. Said "Your Carolina Panthers" and the team ran out - there was a pause and then "Again, your Carolina Panthers" and that was it. Odd. Of course I think it was the offense's turn for intros and they weren't about to send Carr out.

that comment is wrong then. The coaching staff makes the call on if a player is ready to play or is inactive for the game and not the GM.
