No, we entered with the same record but their opponents winning % is way higher then ours - so even if they lose they're higher then us.

Did anybody else hear Baldinger say that signing Carr was not Fox's decision? Late in the game, he said that it was a management decision, not Fox's. If that's true, the Fox was set up for failure.

I think that Jon Richardson gets input, and Carr, as well as Jeff Lewis, was his idea. There was some speculation earlier on this thread that Fox left Carr in so as to rub Jon's nose in it.

Apparently Jerry has to give Fox the OK to replace any of Jon's bright ideas.

I don't think Jon gets any input in roster decisions, I aksed gantt what he knew about the comment - we'll see what he says.

DeShaun Foster rushed nine times for minus-5 yards and lost a fumble.

That's fucking dumb. For one, I doubt that anyone would have opposed the Carr signing. We all thought it was a good idea at the time and no one expected him to be this ineffective. But more significantly, it's already well established that Fox drives personnel decisions and Hurney basically figures out how to get the guys that Fox wants.

Obviously Carr played poorly today and he's been a net negative this year overall, but I keep coming back to the question about why he was so much more effective in Houston than he's been here. Why is that? Some people want to pretend that the guy was always a bum, but that's not true. I'm fine with them playing Moore at this point because this is a lost season already, but this team has huge problems that go well beyond quarterback, whether its Carr or Vinny or Moore. Jake Delhomme being healthy wouldn't have converted those 3rd or 4th & 1 runs, nor avoided the pass pressure in recent weeks, fixed the special teams, made any receiver not named Smith effective, or caused our safeties to cover people downfield. Hell, about the only consistent bright spot I can even think of is Beason. The rest of the organization needs a giant enema, and the sooner the better.

P.S. How weird is it that the one draft pick we somewhat questioned is the one guy who has made an impact?

P.P.S. Still worth noting that Moore's stats are the same putrid completion percentage, yards per attempt, and turnover numbers that Carr gets trashed for. But hey, at least he looks good throwing the ball. And no, that's not a "defense" of Carr, I just don't want to hear any Moore dicksucking. You can't praise one guy and trash another for the same performance just because one looks better doing it.

When was Carr effective in Houston? Yeah, he had a good completion %, but he couldn't put points on the board out there either, unless his RB's and WR's did all the hard work.

Also, how do you know what goes on behind closed doors in the Panthers organization? Just because the stock answer they give to the media, is that everybody is involved in these decisions, doesn't mean that management didn't override Fox's input. If you have some inside information though, let's hear it. Personally, I can't think of how Baldinger would possibly benefit by just making shit like that up, can you?

I think it is unimaginable that Baldinger has a scoop. He's just not that bright, and he gets stuff wrong all the time. The local writers have said that Fox thought Carr needed a change of scenery. I believe them, not him.
