He's embarrassingly slow with pads on.

Devin seems looks Jericho part 2.
Nothing special or even slightly elite.
Put some weight on and teach him how to block a little and call him a tightend.

Yep, the one guaranteed positive for this draft is that it will settle the question on Gettleman's evaluation skills.

Jaelen Strong and Owa Odighizuwa were both still available at #57. Gettleman is an idiot.

Maybe we can get a compensatory pick for Gettleman gaffe picks

I'm not as upset with this pick as some are. It was definitely odd for gettleman to trade up for him but I think he will be able to contribute this year. I disagree with BLack and Blue who said he's very slow with pads on. He looks to have reasonable speed for his size. From the tapes I've watched and the things I've read he has more run after the catch than Benjamin. That being said I don't know why Michigan kept throwing him WR screens, he's not that good at it.
He's not quite as physical as KB despite the similar size.
I think the most important question though is how does he fit in to the offense and how does he change it. With him KB Olsen and Dickson on the field there is no real deep threat. All excel in the intermediate routes. Will the selection lead to our offense being too predictable? Will this take away threat of 20+ yard route.
Don't forget Cotchery will likely start as the 3rd WR.
I don't hate the pick as some but some of these questions are obvious. Putting faith in Mike Shula to figure out how to make it work is not something I'd want to do if I was Rivera and DG.

Jesus. Gettleman just wants to go home. Im sure if he could've thrown the two compensatory picks in there too, he would have.

    Lazy piece of shit.
