that's hard to say. There really isn't a consensus there as to who's the one great end and I imagine once that does get sorted out, that one player will go above us, like the one DT.

Gaines Adams has taken a hit to some of his supporters after the season ended and it was time to re-evaluate. Certianly, Quentin Moses has as well, and doubts over his 2006 have compounded. Both guys are good first-step DEs who need some work but could be good rushers. Anderson just rose so fast, as if people noticed he did in fact have a ton of sacks last year and has some size. Personally for me, Carriker's just too one-dimensional.

that's not to say my personal opinion is heavily swayed by consensus, but I don't think there's anything remotely resembling one correct answer. It would make more sense if I did have an answer, wouldn't it?

We do have more than one pick.
And safety and ILB, IMO, are much deeper than end. I don't want to see us nickel and dime those two spots at all, but end is an impact position and we're in need. Fair enough, though. We could go on like this for days, I get what you're saying.

Jenkins tore his ACL in game one of 2005 and was pretty effective by game one of 2006. He was not quite back to 2003 form but he missed 2004 due to a shoulder injury. I think there is a good chance Rucker will be ready to start the season.

Didn't they say the same things about Jenkins, round 1? If he's on the field, BONUS, but I'd rather we procede as if he weren't going to be and have a starter qualty guy there or at least a combo of specilist...McClover hasn't shown anything other than potential.

round one was a shoulder, wasn't it? Jenkins tore his ACL going into round two, completely unrelated. So I fail to see a point.
I agree, we should have someone who can conceivably start, but that's a lot different than questioning his rehab.

The size and length of the probably extension coming Rucker's way will tell you whether they plan to make any significant moves ad DE.

I am mostly looking at the history of our medical staff and that makes me hesitant to believe it until I see it. Hopefully, Rucker is at or near 100%...but there needs to be a contingency plan.

they already have made a significant move at DE, with Wallace, and I doubt they cut Wallace thinking that they had too much talent at DE.

I don't think anyone questioned that we should have another good end.
