I'm not a big fan of Carr, but I don't think that's completely fair. If it is true, then you need to start looking for tougher players.

I saw no quit in that team. They just weren't good enough to be competitive.

Seems to be something a lot of people had trouble accepting. Thelt seems to have gone to the opposite extreme (this team is terrible and needs to be blown up) in a lot of his posts lately, guess he is unhappy about Fox/Hurney staying employed.

    I agree.

I don't know if they quit but they were out there expecting to lose when Carr got back in after Vinny played. IMO. But I don't know exactly who to point a finger at.

That is not actually how I feel on this. I am fairly happy that Fox is still here. I wish they had added a guy to evaluate personnel but I am not sour on the team because they are still here.

I do not necessarily want to blow up the team. We are just faced with some key guys either being free agents or being in the last year of a backloaded contract. I am not sure it is smart to overpay or commit long term to these guys when we have basically gotten a lot of 7-9 seasons from them.

Respectfully, I disagree,,,,,,,,,,, because I clearly saw quit. I saw quit every time we got down by 10 points.

As for Fox and blowing up the team, I don't necessarily want to do that, I would feel better if JR brought someone in to help evaluate talent, because obviously whatever our decision-makers are doing right now just isn't working.

And it bothers me that if Steve Smith and Julius Peppers was the cornerstones for this team, now we have serious questions about one of those.

Basically, I just believe this team was very good about 2 years ago, but we haven't done well in recent drafts or FA signings to get better, aside from just a couple. Thus with our key players aging and getting hurt, we have gotten worse.

I think the following guys should be kept at least one more year:

    Steve Smith
    Jake Delhomme
    Deangelo Williams
    Jon Beason
    Thomas Davis
    Richard Marshall
    Ken Lucas
    Chris Gamble
    Rhyne Robinson
    Mike Wahle

The rest are subject to replacement. I would hope to trade Peppers if we can not get him to sign a reasonable contract.

Obviously we have to carry over some guys besides those but those are guys I want to see stay.

In case some of y'all didn't notice, Reed managed to milk four articles/columns from JR's statements (paid by the piece?). This is from #4:

It was probably directed at all the local writers, not just Reed, but LMAO.

I've never seen Peppers as a leader of this team, and I don't think he ever will be. I'm fine with Smitty. He's clearly a team leader. I think Beason will be too, in time.

I do not care if Peppers is a leader or not but he should be able to get constant pressure on the QB or at least force constant double teams. If he can not do that any more then he is not worth Freeny money.
