    I agree that QB was probably "the biggest" problem, as offensive coordinator was the only thing that might be considered bigger, but saying that "a solid QB" would have made Carolina the 10th best team in the NFL was absurd. Matt Moore played well in 2009, but was garbage in 2010. Having the same players doesn't mean that you can expect them to play at the same level. The offensive line was ass, and Smith did play like a below average receiver. Pretending that the Panthers would have been a playoff team with "a solid QB" is nonsense. The team had a lot of problems last season.

    I guess it is a bit of the chicken and the egg type argument but my take on it is that all those problems were made a lot worse by poor QB play. Smith played poorly but I think he just went through the motions once he realized we were going nowhere. He probably did not feel like breaking more bones for a losing cause. The OL was not great but it is hard to open holes for the run when the defense does not fear your passing game. When you are in obvious passing downs and your QB is a scared rookie and your WRs are not doing much then the defense is going to pass rush hard and not worry so much about getting burned. Granted our OC sucked but a solid QB could have made his bland play calling work a lot better.

    Maybe I am being a homer by thinking we are only a QB away from being a decent team. I would sure like to get a decent QB and find out......

    the title of this thread is so absurd that i didn't even look around in here til yesterday. It would be a stretch to say the panthers have the 10th LEAST talented roster.

    Who here would like to list nine teams (in the fucking NFL) that have less talent (not to mention depth, our depth is nonexistent) than the mighty carolina panters
