Thomas Davis looked like he had an error on that coverage. Davis is active, he's really covering ground, but he's still tackling a little like a DB. It's allright when Richard Marshall does that, but I was figuring Davis could hit and wrap a little more.

start of the next posession (technically the 3rd) - Miami really, really bites on flow. They leave holes backside, they look eager enough to miss on jukes. They're aggressive, sure. But we could run all day on Denver type counters.

Jake kinda gunned that ball into Key. Don't know if it would've been intercepted but chancy.
He's kinda lofting these deep balls a little, which I'd rather not see.

Wahle (?) whiffed on an ugly screen that went nowhere.

Seward on first down hesitating for a second and eventually cleaning up Brown in the backfield. Nice. Certainly not all his work, but that's exactly how you do it. That's what we need, where Morgan sometimes hesitates and contains. Morgan's almost always the second guy to the ball.

This defense looks foolproof with the beef in. Just take guys who can flow to the ball. With neither Morgan nor Witherspoon (obviously), and two backups and a new LB in, we're taking down a very good RB for 2/-4.

Nice first down run (with penalty). Looks like the penalty was in the hole, but it was a nice run. Foster cut and just drove the pile. That's what you want to see. Too bad the penalty cost us a 6 yard run and ten yards.

Key is going to make a living near the sidelines. And we might have an intermediate game for once on 2nd and long.
Awful call on the PI. The defender took the shoulder, sure. And he technically initiated contact.

I thought Taylor was going to break Foster's leg on the (third) first down run. We look awful when we're this obvious running.
Second down, run in Mathis' hole and it looked like he was looking around for a man to block. Don't know if it was a combo block, but when they're in your hole, hit somebody. Anybody.

So I watched him on 3rd down, and he was very good taking out the DT on the run in his hole. Granted it was 3rd and forever inside our own shadow, but it was a nice lead block.

Draft missed on that 2nd down run, but we held Brown up so much that anybody could've made the play behind him.

Ugh...3rd down, the achilles' heel. 3rd down dumpoff for a 1st - where the hell was coverage? And then, as if on cue, there's the Shaun Williams injury.

Kemoeatu pursues very well on the first down run. And Seward knifes through and takes care of the trash. This is how this defense should run.

Ugh. That bomb on 2nd is ugly - pushoff or not, Lucas with Minter coming should be able to handle Chambers.

Peppers coulda creamed Culpepper at the goal. Hate he didn't. Our goal D is tough - great smack by Draft and good work by Jenkins on penetration. After the QB sneak, we needed that goal stop.

Awesome 2nd down run by Williams after the penalty. Awesome cut to the hole, Colbert could've really done a little more with the block, though.

3rd down - they test the outside a little too much. Hard to believe that Allen took him down on a yank. Compact back like that doesn't go down like that so much.

We still don't have a first down. Troublesome. We haven't passed in a while, and when we did, we were struggling. Without a ton of pressure, either.

Ugh. Gamble gambled, luckily he does make the dive for the ankles, but damn. We're getting tons of first downs thrown on us over his side.

    Thomas Davis. SMACK! GODDAMN!!!

Jake's always a foot ahead of Colbert. He looked really, really pissed at Keary this time, and I remember him being kinda pissed at the last throw.

Awesome throw to Carter and a nice first down. And then a comeback catch, too. It's not just because Colbert flubbed the pass, Carter's looking more electric.

Ouch. Traylor knocks Foster bad. Beat Wahle, too, I have no idea what's with that. Foster never had a chance.

Forgive me if this has been covered already, but why isn't Morgan playing tonight?

thanks :bananalam I'm not taping so I'm making notes as I go.

Nice short route by Key. Takes the punishment. Finally, not just a first down, but a couple in a row.

    wow - shotgun?
Seidman can't come under a hot Jake pass. Jake's high tonight. Time to bring a ball or two down.

That pitch counter is fucking stupid. 3 yard loss behind no blocking and your RB gets a free shot from a hellacious D.
Awesome draw by DW after, just kinda squirts through. 7 yards at that point in the drive is a real boost and was the difference, obviously, between a 43 yarder and a 50.
