stating he's a bit of a locker room cancer, for instance. Stating he'd begged to come back when the team had released a statement noting they were very interested.

if i recall, didn't the panthers want to keep moose when he left for chicago? didn't we find out that the bears and panthers offers were, basically, the same?

I think the rumor was that the deals were similar, but the team never really said what they did offer.

Same as with Jeno James, Deon Grant, Will Witherspoon, etc, where we heard they came close, they didn't come close, we really don't know and different 'sources' say different things.

i was just wondering if there was any ill will leftover from being "spurned" for another team when you had a similar offer on the table.

    dunno.

Smith had more than Moose every year both started

I know one of the Observer guys didn't like Moose. Made the comment after he left that the fans who liked him, liked him for the side of him they saw. Won't say who said it, but it was said to me first hand so it's not rumor. It wasn't said out loud, but I got the impression that the press (in this area) weren't fond of Moose. Of course some of them aren't fond of Smitty either. With the lack of communication between Richardson and the press, and not that much "gossip" coming out of the lockerroom, I just wonder if the press just gets pissed because they can't get inside info? "I'm the sports reporter here, so I should be treated like one of the guys".
