Does anyone know how much cap space the Panthers have now? They were maxed out but the extension they gave Jake should have opened up a little room. They will have to sign rookies but with no first round pick that should not cost a lot.

I am still hopefull they will sign another veteran DT and maybe a Guard for depth. There may not be much on the market right now but guys will shake loose before the season starts.

Looking at a list of guys available does not yield much:

    La'Roi Glover
    Dewayne Robertson
Orpheus Roye (a 3-4 DE who could play DT in a 4-3)
    Brian Young
    Jeff Zgonina

One of those guys might have enough left to come off the bench for us.....

No. All of them are too old to be effective or have severe knee issues.

Holliday is the only real remaining option and he'd need money. And I doubt he wants to sit for Lewis.

You think none of them have enough left to be a back up in a rotation?

I thought Holiday was a DE....

Vonnie Holliday is a 3-4 DE but at 290 lbs he would be able to play DT for us on passing down and provide good pass rush up the middle. He's the one guy that still has something left but Im sure he'l be asking for more than what Jason Taylor received from the Dolphins. Our only shot is if he were to give us a hometown discount (I believe he's from SC) which is unlikely.
