That was the most depressing observation of the day to me. I didnt see the whole game. Did he hurt his foot? Perhaps that weakened his arm (actually plausible if it disrupts the drive with his legs)

And what it is, is SHIT. Well, came home $100 richer for selling tickets and had a few nice chats with Walter Payton jersey wearers - Walter addicted me to football. Panthers may cure that addiction yet.

Yes, Peppers was way more annimated with teammates & crowd then I have ever seen him. Which is ok because for whatever the truth is, he wasn't happy here, but his gestures at the fans (several of them) pissed me off. I had nothing to do with whatever the organization did or did not do, and I defended him throughout most of his time here, so don't shit on me.

I was surprised with all the booing for him - I really thought his UNC/North Carolina connection would buy him some remaining good will.

Nope. It's OK for him to want to be elsewhere. People should be able to choose where they live and who their employers are. I don't like the fact that he went through the motions a lot of the last years here.

Very second-rate for him. Kinda put him in a lower lever, I thought.

Clausen's foot has been an issue the whole season and we've just seen the problem manifest in a game. For sure it's affected his velocity. And - and this is just my own little theory - the toe pain is preventing him from moving around in the pocket like he needs to. He keeps throwing into defensive linemen because he doesn't slide into the passing lanes.

Before anyone goes boo-hoo, turf toe is cause for some players to go on IR. It's that painful. Clausen's toe pain may be as acute, or more, which weakens his foundation. How can it not?

That said, I don't think Jimmy Clausen is ready to play professional football. The Panthers look like a JV squad out there with him under center. I mean, does anyone really think this is Jimmy Clausen's team? And his body language sucks. His field vision is about as bad as it should be for a rookie QB throwing against sophisticated defenses, especially a defense that can put you on your butt like Chicago's can.

I think Clausen will develop like Drew Brees developed. Lots of folks forget that Brees was considered a second round bust in San Diego before he hit it big with the Saints. But Jimmy's just not ready, and it showed Sunday. Toe or no toe, he's in over his head.
