there are better battles than this to pick with mags if that's what you're into. this one isn't going anywhere and quickly lost the little entertainment value it had.

Yes. I was looking for the article about a drop Colbert made in the first game. I was thinking about the second game, and found that on NFL.com play by play. Look for it - second quarter, first play of the quarter.

Okay. An entirely different set of circumstances with the game not on the line. But alright, whatever.

Wow. Never said that. I said plenty of things, try sticking to those. Does Colbert not play up to potential? Yeah. I've said that and say it now. Did that score put us up 14-7? yeah

You have, though, gone to great lengths to prove Colbert choked in a key situation of a game, which he never did. And his score put us up 21-14 with :27 seconds. A game winner, if you will. Something you've seemed reluctant to acknowledge.

Also, why don't you cut the guy a bit of slack. He came into camp learning an entirely different position in the offense, was forced into action when Smith went down, and still put up put up productive numbers as a rookie.

So be straight up with me and tell me that Colbert is the same talent of receiver that Muhammad is. By all means, tell me. So you can have a point.

No. That's not the point I've been trying to make. Moose had the NFL's top recieving stats. There is no comparison between the two, talent wise. What I have been trying to express is that, if Moose leaves, Colbert beside of Steve Smith (hey everyone, remember Steve Smith?) wouldn't, imo, be as significant of dropoff in the passing game that some may think.
The stats I posted earlier weren't meant to compare Moose to Colbert as a top reciever, but rather to compare Moose as a #2 reciever to Colbert as a #2 reciever.

I would compare Steve Smith favorably to Moose (provided he is fully recovered). Colbert was the number 2 last year and will likely be that way again. He should be better with the experience he gained though.

a thread about Moose being on the air turns into a fukin five page argument of Colbert...

all because some peoples just can't stand not having the last word- ever, whether they're right or wrong.

B&B, I think you're failing to grasp the sheer magnitude of dropping 10 passes when it's only thrown to you 55 or so times. A dropped pass is defined as a catchable ball. If it's overthrown as Jake does so many times, it's simply not a dropped pass stat.

I'll say it again. 10 drops out of 55 attempts = bad
10 drops out of 100 attempts = not so bad

It doesn't matter when it happened or what game it was in. A dropped pass is a dropped pass.

Don't get me wrong, I like Colbert. I just prefer him to be our slot guy.

The 3 guys with more drops than Colbert, (and times they were thrown to):

Chad Johnson (170), Darrell Jackson (156), Donald Driver (137), and they all played in 1 more game than Colbert.

That whole dropped passes thing seems to be to be about as beneficial as errors in baseball - meaning, not so much.
