This is where you say "well he won't get as many balls as he needs with Smith healthy", and then I show you the stats that don't make it so, namely the last two months of 03, and then we keep chasing around this with different variances for a few more hours. Unless someone compares Branch and Colbert, in which time I'll shake from laughing so hard that I may damage a testicle.

Now if you wanted to score points, you could say they're equal if Colbert catches all the ones that were obvious drops Otherwise, I don't find Moose's stats in the ultra-conservative offense of 2003 comparable to Colbert's in 2004. We threw over 30 times 6 times all of 2003 - and 3 were at the very end without Davis. There were plenty of balls in 2004, Colbert just didn't step up and take his share.
