Packman's STANLEY CUP Bet w/Da Canes

After the Canes won the Eastern Conference, Did anybody catch Packman's interview with Canes Pres. Jim Cain on Wednesday ? ? ? Based on Packman's brief review of the exchange today on PRIMETIME, Packman has gotten Jim to promise that I-F the Canes win the Cup, he would bring the Cup down here to CLT with Ric Flair (who lives here . . . anybody know exactly where ? ? ? ) and they would have some Eastern Style BBQ out of the Cup (or they would chow down on some BBQ with the Cup in the studio, I missed the exact wording).
I wonder what Lord Stanley would have to say about his trophy being a serving bowl for some Eastern style BBQ ? ? ? ? ? ?

Eating BBQ from the Stanley Cup would just add to the lore that surrounds the Stanley Cup.

I was reading some book on hockey many years ago (it might have been a history of the early years of the Cup playoffs), and it detailed some of the things that have happened to the trophy over the years. Some of them are outrageous, including the one where the winning team had to come back after a particularly raucous celebration to retrieve the Cup from a canal.

I imagine if the Stanley Cup could talk, we'd hear even more unbelievable tales.

Everyone I talk to in town here says that Carolina wont win 2 games. I am saying Carolina will take it in 6 games. If irbe plays anywhere near as good as he played in the last series they can easily keep up with Detroits offense. It will be the first time in a long damn time that I will actually be watching the stanly cup finals. I have been a hurricane fan ever since they were playing back in greensboro!!

The cup cannot be done those things anymore it has it own bodyguard check it out on NHL.com

They talk about it there.

Finish the days were they fish it outo f the pool or the Canal as Dave said.

On one ocassion it was left in a lake for 4 days acording to the lore is was close to the edge so the just kicked around till they found it.

Actually each player from the winning team gets Lord Stanley's Cup for about 24-48 hrs to do what they want with it. The CupKeeper is with him and stays with the Cup but each player still gets a day or 2 with it.... find another sport that does that.

A few years ago, I can't remember his name, a defenseman and his wife had just had a baby. Well one of the things he did with the Cup was to give his child a bath in Lord Stanley's Cup.

I believe it was Peter Forsberg that took the CUp to show it to the folks from his hometown.


The glory of Lord Stanley's Cup can't be found in any other "trophy" on Pro Sports. Try and find a trophy that started 110yrs ago.
