ummm Vick rushed for an average of 10.1 yards (one rush was for 43 yards) and a total of 141...that means those 14 points were essentialy scored by Vick...then he threw for 179 yards...we did not shut down Vick

yeah but they wouldn't have won if not for the INT for a TD in OT. Vick can't win games by himself, so a top WR is something they need less than a better defense. Indy shut Vick down and they didn't do anything. It's not their WR's that are the problem.

Why is everyone so afraid to admit that this could be scary?

    Because I'm in denial..lol

even worse, if they sign TO and draft a roy williams or something..

    :shakehead

I'm just saying that you can stack an offense all you want, but they still need a defense (KC anyone?). Teams don't have to spend out the ass for a top WR anymore. Mora should build the defense and not worry about TO..

either way the falcons are scary..

TO bitches about his QB's and only wants to play with Vick it seems. What if he gets hurt? We know the falcons are a one man team and TO even said that a WR is only as good as his QB, which is a slam to Garcia. TO is a cancer and wants off that team so bad, that he even compared Dorsey to Montana..

    Keep this in mind...

TO is from the area, grown up in Alexander City, AL (90 mi SW as crow flies from Atlanta), went to school in Chattanooga at UTC (115 mi NW). If Russell Athletic has anything to do with this...historic HDQ in TO's town, with family that has ties to Russell as most people of that community did, and now located in Atlanta.

Prediction: Terrell Owens will sign in Atlanta.

Because it's not all that scary. Sure, they would be better on paper, but you can also bet on major internal problems. T.O. hates it when he is not the focal point, and hates it even more when he is not getting the ball as much as he would like. One big problem the Falcons would face is that Vick is just an average passer, with most of his big plays come from his legs. Sure, they need another starting caliber receiver to take some of the pressure off Price, but they would probably be better off going after one of the younger guys available than an aging malcontent.

If he does sign there, I don't think it would be long before T.O. started his usual bitch sessions about not being involved more...especially if their faulty defense causes them to lose a few too many games. I just don't see T.O. fitting in with most of the attention going to Vick, and make no mistake, Vick is, and will continue to be, THE star of the Falcons. If T.O. goes there, he will be just another member of Vick's supporting cast.

Additionally, if Owens does go to Atlanta, his presence should open thing up for Price, increasing his touches, which would also reduce the amount of attention T.O. receives. It's possible a strong coach could make it work, but it would take A LOT of management. The problem is that the Falcons have a first time coach who likely has little experience dealing with the kinds of ego's he would find if T.O. goes there.

With all that said, I really don't see it happening anyway. Owens would cost way too much...especially with Price & Vick already taking up huge pieces of the salary cap. And, don't forget that Mora had a front row seat to Owens' constant disruptions and undermining of his coaches at SF. I simply don't believe he would want those kinds of distractions on his first stint as a HC...it would not be worth the risk.

That's my guess. Reids been around long enough to handle the ego, and he would be THE receiver on that team. And while McNabb gets a lot of attention, its not quite to the level of Vick (is there anybody on the level of Vick?). Philly is also VERY close to the prize, and I can see T.O. believing he will be the difference. Not to mention that the Eagles play a similar offensive scheme, so Owens should be able to slide right in without missing a step.

yeah but the reason the eagles have crappy WR's is because of the scheme. Reid believes that he can spread it around and win. Getting owens would go against the grain of that.

If throwing accurate 60 yard bombs at a full sprint is average, I reckon Jake is terrible.
