    now that he is signed...anyone see him in person today? The video we got in tonight...he looked pretty darn good--good quicks, and the solo workouts didnt hurt him. He gets in "football" shape, and he'll be tough....still, much to learn, obviously, but he was solid (in what I saw of him on tape today)

    I actually had a good talk with Rogers after the 2001 draft - Seifert was GM and Rogers was Hurney's assistant. They were working on signing the picks from that awesome draft and he explained the slotting system to me. He indicated how hopeful the organization was for Tim B.to have a big year.

    Rogers was initially hired by Capers as an administrative temp - even though he has an Ivy league degree ( I forget which school. ) He has survived all the turmoil ( coaching / front office changes )to become a pretty key player in the league. He had no real intention to go into sports - he was just looking for temp work and got placed with the Panthers.

    Anyway - not that it has much to do with anything, but the back story on Rogers is kind neat. From my brief encounter with him, he seemed extremely bright.

    Hurney = beat writer.
    Rogers = temp.

    FWIW, I had been on the board ( charlotte.com then ) for a few months and it was all I could do to keep from emailing him constantly with questions to share with my inter-dweeb pals.

    You really are an ignorant prick. You just don't get it and you never will. Now shut the fuck up asswhipe. All you know how to do is throw around smack. You can't see the obvious and that only makes you look all the more ignorant. I know from my time on this board that you won't be able to resist another smartass insult ridden retort, so go ahead and make it and continue to look foolish.

    Hahvad or beat writer, somebody fucked up putting a deal on the table and then pulling it back (if that really happened), because of some miscommunication or whatever. Of course they aren't paying for it, wonder how thrilled JR is about the shenanigans.
