Again, presumption that they called the doctor. Who is to say the doctor (being small time and wanted to build his business) did not contact them? Or perhaps there was some other compelling reason to contact him because he had new methods. I mean these guys are always trying to get an edge which in itself is not illegal. They are paid to perform at the highest level and there is always a younger, stronger person around pushing them for a job.

Regardless, my primary problem here is not some notion that the Panther players are above doing illegal things. It is just the facts as they are reported do not point to player misconduct. Yet the spin on most of the stories (like the story titles) has been aimed at drawing in readers with the supposed idea that there is illecit steroid use by the players. Yet there are no charges. This story is starting to give me Reb's angst in regards to WMD's and Osama.

So someone on your street is killed. The police question everyone on the street. Does that make you a murder suspect?

Why? The premise here is that because a law enforcement agency is questioning someone, they are a presumed suspect in an investigation. Indeed murder and steroid use are miles apart in terms of severity, but investigative interview process for any illegal act is going to be similar.

 

better analogy would be:

bodybuilder gives tip to DEA about steroid doctor. DEA monitors steroid doctor's phone. Steroid doctor receives phone calls from 9 NFL players on the same team. DEA interviews players to see why they are calling steroid doctor....which is against team policy.

 

I'd compare it to that dentist who squirted his jizz into chicks mouths.

I'm betting they called all the patients and asked if they had jizz squirted into their mouths.
