    Woot!

the Pittsburgh Penguins inked forward Pascal Dupuis to a three-year deal worth $4.2 million.

Now that he has his deal with Pittsburgh done, Dupuis told Sporting News he might try and convince teammate Marian Hossa to do the same.
"Yes, I will definitely try to do that," said Dupuis, who will get paid $1.4 million in each of the next three seasons.
Dupuis was acquired by the Penguins at the trade deadline and immediately contributed with his speed and penalty killing.
Pittsburgh's success down the stretch was a big reason he wanted to remain with the Penguins. "I got a good role, I know what to expect when I'm going to the rink," Dupuis said. "We have a really young core. I'll be the old guy around these guys for the next three years."

Not sold on Dupweeee yet, but it's a cheap solution for a guy that could end up a top 6t forward. I read they got Eaton for $2mil for 2 seasons. Does that mean per or total? Orpik can fuck off if we have Eaton. He doesn't take the body like Orpik, but he's solid as shit.
Read the Pens are close to finishing the Malkin deal for about $8.7, same as Crosby.

Hye, wouldn't it be weird if Edmonton signed Orpik?

I didn't want to like Dupuis when he came over, but he played decently, and we got him cheap. Not sure about Eaton's deal. I agree about Orpik if Eaton can stay healthy. Can they get Malkin and Hossa, or is it pretty much one or the other?

They offered Hossa 7 mil, and they wouldn't have done that w/o being able t0 get Malkin too. I already miss our depth from last year. I thought Hossa would be gone by now, maybe he could be a Pen after all. It's funny how they have been putting playing with the nucleus of the Pens as a privilege. Not sure if players think about legacy at times like this, but being Crosby's winger for the next 5 years could give him HOF legitimacy.

Hedican thinks he has value on the open market...and he might, but for a #5-6 D.

Orpik to EDM? Spooky--I wouldn't wish that on Cole.

I hope the Jagr rumors are true!

Evgeni Malkin will be staying in Pittsburgh
    for quite some time.
The Penguins have signed the MVP finalist to a five-year
extension. It keeps him under contract until the 2013-14 season.
The 21-year-old forward still has one year left on his initial
    three-year entry level contract.
Signing Malkin was key to the Penguins, who lost Marian Hossa to
the Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings earlier in the day.
Malkin could've become a free agent after next season if he didn't
    have a new deal.
Malkin is arguably the team's best player besides Sidney Crosby.
He scored 106 points, including 47 goals, last season and was an
All-Star and a finalist for the Hart Trophy, which is given to the
    NHL's most valuable player.
