glad to see us HIT FREE THROWS and we took hardly any threes at all. great game by basden, i swear he got fouled every time he drove to the hoop. other than the first 10 or 12 minutes, that was a damn good game.
now on to Cincinnati!!!!!

I think Eddie proved my point. He scored in the half court set, almost at will.

He took a couple of bad shots at the end, but he did end up with 18 points.

Remind me again why we shouldn't use him more often?

 

Because NA said Plavich is better.

 

Basden, Mitch and Pigford had solid games.

Withers was good as usual.

Demon and Plav had better start knocking down some jumpers quick or Cincy will drill us by 40.

Clemmons doesn't look ready to receive passes.

Just as I feared, Iti is getting pushed around in conference play.

Eddie played well against SLU's man to man. That one guy they had guarding him in the second half had no chance. Wish he could do that against zone and all of our opponents were that slow footed. I loved that spin move.

 

That's starting to piss me off. He's allowing smaller guys to push him around. He needs big man camp and some more beef so badly...

 

Because he has no jump shot. He hit a few outside shots in the first half and most of them were taken out of desperation because our half court offense is soooooo bad. No one moving with or without the ball and eddie just started firing away. He just happened to have a hot night from the perimeter. We can't count on that every night. Otherwise he was very solid and scored most of his second half points driving the baseline, which St. Louis continued to let him do for some unknown reason. Basdens defender was getting no baseline help and when they tried to set him up into a baseline trap the trap was late. Poor defense. Cincinnati will not allow this.

 

I've been critical about his half court offense too, but he's starting to hit that outside jumper with enough regularity that it has to be respected...

... until you see him hit the side of the backboard like he did on that one wide open look. :shakehead

Still, I dont want to take anything away from him. He had another very solid defensive game and his best offensive game as a Niner. He's critical to our success.
