I'm looking for two classic pictures and I can't remember who they are, The first is circa 1970's and its a player leaning over smiling for the camera with no front teeth, the other is a playoff picture circa 1980's of a player celebrating with blood running down his face, anybody remember these pictures and can help me find them?

do you know what teams? all hockey players are missing teeth and back in the days of no helmets bleeding from the face was common.

where did you see the pics?

jbh and sds and PuckBunny will probably help you when they get here.:)

I am still looking---I remember both you are talking about and I think I recall the bloody one being used in an article about violence in hockey.

there are no points in hockey...only goals, if someone refers to points instead of goals they are mistaken.

Dukie...

Methinks Dukie has confused hockey "points" in the standings - how many for a win & tie, etc...

OR, he could have "blended" that splendid UNC hardcourt season with the Canes...and thought you should get more "points" for a longer shot...like the blue like should be worth 3, right?

;)

I think dukey is talking about when players are + or - .

As in the individual player. If that's the case the time that player is on the ice (at even strength) if his team scores he is +1. If instead of his team scoring and the other team scores he is -1.

So if his team, while he is on the ice, scores 2 goals and the other team scores 1 goal... that player is +1.

All that only counts when the teams are at even strength. Power Play and Penalty Kill don't count.

If dukey is talking about how much a Win or a Tie is well, a Win is worth 2 points, a Tie is worth 1 and an Overtime Win is worth 2 points, while an Overtime Loss is worth 1 point.

In the good old days(not that long ago) an Overtime Win was worth 2 points because you won and an OT Loss was worth nothing because you lost. :)
