    next time try Ctrl+Alt+Del and select the Task Manager

    Click the Processes tab and find explorer.exe

    Highlight explorer.exe and click End Process.

    Then in the Task Manager go up to File and select New Task (Run...)

    Type in Explorer.exe there and it should fix your problem.

    Basically what I just said is kill the explorer program and restart it.

    Do all this, which knocks out everything in your system tray. Then reboot.

    Oh, and C-A-D doesn't work on his PC.

    I have 1536, and I still do it. Why WASTE memory? No it might not be needed this second, but save it up for something useful. What good does having AOL IM in you system tray on Start up really do you?

    I've got everything there that I use: camera control, printer control, SAV, Microsoft Antispyware, Outlook, network connections, volume control. Can't remember anything else right now, but none of it's wasted.
