It's still pretty shitty what they were doing, but it obviously didn't make much of a difference.

Yep, they had a good team.

But without cheating, it just plain wasn't good enough.

If they weren't getting anything out of it, why were they doing it?

Do we have to go thru this again, for christs sake. Every team in the league tries to steal signals. It is the reason every caoch and coordinator hides his mouth when playcalling. Teams use spotters and video in the booth. The only thing the patriots did was get caught having cameras where the shouldn't be.

When Belichick addressed the league owners and gave his side at the annual owners meeting at the end of that season, he got a standing ovation. If they don't have a problem, then you shouldn't either.

Not for christ's sake. Just for yours. Looking and acting during the game is one thing. Sending a team employee to the opposing team's sidelines for the sole purpose of recording signals is not. Answer this. Why wasn't Estrella wearing anything to indicate that he was an employee of the Patriots? Why the plain brown attire? I would think it appropriate to display support for your employer on gameday. If you truly believe you're within the rules, why hide?

Total BS. Kraft got the ovation for his talk on the unity of the owners and the NFL partnership during the speech when he appologized for the actions of his team. Belichick got the standing ovation from the Pats homers.

Bottom line is BB ended up with a half mill fine, the largest ever for a coach BY FAR, the team got a quarter mill fine and lost a 1st round draft pick. That is not a small total penalty. Continuing to downplay it is blatant homerism on your part.

Your facts are wrong and I'm not going to go through this all over again with an idiot like you.

Everyone knows they were stealing signals, including me and everyone with a brain knows every team in the league tries to steal signals, not just NE. Stop being such a jealous hater and move on.
