Agreed. ANd Im not dissing Moose. For the record, Im in the 'bring him back camp'. Im just speaking of the money specifically. The age/other receivers available- both factor into this. I love Moose, but the money? I just dont see it. And I even questioned that when I was marking out about him coming back.

This year Drew Carter made $1.3 million. The guy who couldn't beat out Keary Colbert.

Jeremy Bridges made $1.5 mil this year. To be good enough to be benched.

Starting wide receivers make more than this. I'll be thankful and surprised that he's getting only this, not because I think he's not worth more, but because I'm glad he's willing to do it for this.

Yeah, I know. Carter made that because we tendered him at that amount, I think, hoping he'd develop more.

1.5 is good money for a guy who we thought might start at G, and who could play T in a pinch. Being that starting Gs above average are sinking their teeth into contracts exceeding 6 mil per.

I think that price is about right.

I agree with Purr. Remember, we're talking about a guy who caught 40 balls last year. It's not a situation like Keyshawn in '06, where we brought a guy in and handed him the starting job. The team seems to feel good about Jarrett, and signing Moose would give us a good, short-term insurance policy.

Moose only caught two more passes than Carter last year.

he's still just not worth what Carter is. Carter couldn't help us when we needed it. Bridges didn't make us yards when we needed them. We know what we're getting out of MM, and it's certainly more than these two.

Maybe we could put Michael Turner in there.

Jarrett is smoke. We handed Keary Colbert a job, that didn't make it work.

    Oh snap!

I'd like to have Moose. I think it's a solid, short-term solution. We agree there, we just disagree about the price.

He's worth 1.5. He's even worth 2. IMO, theres no way hes worth 3 mil per year. He's just not. Thats entirely too much money for a guy who's production has dropped, and has been dropped from a team that owed him 1.6 base, (a team who needs receivers) with their only good option at receiver going into FA.

I feel comfortable with him making around 1.5. I would be aghast at him making 3.

Muhammad is a much better blocker than Carter will ever dream of being.
