He can't play for me, we play six games...plus he'd have to practice.

no shit, I wouldn't let him play on my peewee team cause he'd get injured by one of my 60lb running backs.

Maybe this happens all over the league but it sure happens here that we get attached to a talented player who can not stay healthy. We kept Timmy B for way too long hoping he would one day kick the injury bug. We are doing the same with Morgan and IMHO did that with Foster. When a guy can not play a full season in his first three years then cut him and move on. I think you are better off with a mid level free agent who is a starter from day one than with a pro bowl caliber guy who plays eight games or less per year. Imagine how much better Draft would probably be if he had went through camp as our starter.

I miss Spoon too but we really do not need him to be a good defense. We are playing fairly solid this year really. If our offense would be consistent we would be 7-2 at worst. Put up a few more points on Cinncy, who just gave up 41 and on the Vikings and we are 7-2. Maybe we are 8-1 since Dallas could have gone our way pretty easily if not for turnovers and drops. Our D has only really lost us one game this year and that was Atlanta.

Imagine if we had given Morgan's money to a good offesive lineman.....

I would rather have taken the money we gave to Morgan, Foster and Kemo and spent it on upgrades to the OL. Williams could start and Goings and Hoover are good enough depth. Kemo has not done much of anything yet as far as I can tell.

I guess in fairness we did spend a lot on Hartwig and he has been hurt all year so you never know.....

Obviously the problem is that as long as he's here, we won't spend the money or picks necessary to acquire a good enough replacement.

How badly would it hurt us to release him next year? SURELY, SURELY, SURELY despite his desire to return, the Panthers realize having Morgan on the field for ANYWHERE CLOSE to 16 games is NEVER going to happen?
