Would anyone mind if we just cut Morgan and signed Draft to be our MLB for the next couple of years? I'm serious, does anyone at all think that would be a bad idea?

Why didn't we sign WW first? I know its hindsight, but with the success of Draft and Morgans injuries wouldn't it made since if you were going to wait on somebody make it morgan.

Based solely on this game, sure.

Don't know about the cap. And pre-injury Morgan was probably having his best year. But it's the same old crap with him, and Chris Draft played his ass off today. He may not be as straight line fast, and may be small, but he's athletic and just hit people.

And smart. One thing Maas did point out is that Draft went to where Dunn was going instead of where he was. He filled against the run today better than I have ever seen Morgan do, and he shook off his injury to come back and continue to play at a high level. We're lucky we got him cheaply because the NFL is prejudiced against small linebackers, but we'd be foolish to let him go just because Morgan was a first round draft pick and has potential we haven't yet seen.

I wouldn't mind to see Morgan gone, but the reference to Draft playing smart against Atlanta may not be a good indicator since he used to play for them.

Except that the same thing was noted about his performance against Buffalo, and it's something I said when expressing how glad I was when he was initially signed as a free agent. But sure, playing against his old team gave him an advantage, but we're going to keep playing them twice a year anyway.

Draft played well last week too, though. Second straight week he has stood out.

Draft would be a keeper, if we'd signed him longer.

Morgan's cap hit will be big. We'll never let him go; it's just a matter of us bullshitting Draft into staying and/or keeping Witherspoon. But we've got our work cut out for us on either. Some 3-4 team's going to snap Draft up quick.
