We have paid him so much to rehab over the years he ought to play for us cheap, if we want him. I realize he has an agent that will not agree, just sayin'.

No way Morgan gets a big contract from anyone. Someone will give him a low dollar short term deal to see if he has anything left but no one will invest big dollars into a guy who just missed the bulk of two straight seasons and has never played a whole season.

so do we cut him or try to get a day 2 draft pick for him? I'd give up a 5th rounder if I was desperate for a MLB....a gamble worth while...also, the contract they'd take on is incentive laden, right? makes him tradeable.

No one will trade for him. They expect us to cut him.

There is no way in hell any team gives him a big contract. He's only played in 4 games out of the last 32. He's never played more than 13 in any one season. He's one big hit from being done. All that adds up to not getting a big contract.

Where are the plays he makes? He gets blown the fuck up by the RBs more times than he dishes it out. He's not that great in coverage. Just going off our recent roster, Mark Fields = Playmaker. Dan Morgan = 4 yards down field tackler. I don't see what is so hard to understand about that. Do you still have a hard on from all those down field tackles in the Super Bowl? Whoopty fucking doo. Get Dan to blow a ************ up in the backfield (without knocking himself the fuck out) and then come talk to me.

And for the record, I like Dan. Seems like a good guy, never in any trouble. Good teammate. I was hoping we were getting a playmaker when we drafted him. I was ready to buy the jersey. It just never materialized.

Please clarify your definition of "big contract". I am not suggesting he gets some 4-5 year deal worth $25 to $30 million bucks, but I do think he will get at least a 1 year deal worth something in the $3 million range with incentives at the very least. Imho the idea he only gets an offer for vet min is crazy.

ps...I think you underestimate the desparation some front offices will show trying to get better. They can make themselves believe almost anything....you know, like Sean Gilbert is worth two 1st round picks...

    Sometimes here, sometimes there

I bought my son his black jersey Dan's second year. Everyfukin time he wore it (which wasn't all that much), he hurt himself or got hurt stubbing his toe, wrecking his bike, etc. Last time I washed it, the washing machine broke down, and now breaks down every month or so.

thanks dan, please, give it up before you kill yerself.

Other than wishing him well in his life, I don't care at all. Won't be for us (I really hope). Even if he's healthy, we have better options for the money.

Who would know Morgan better, people who actually watch Panthers games regularly or some media hype-mongers? Look, you have had a hard on for Morgan for a long time now, but you lost your defenses of him so badly that you stopped posting for a long time. I'm not suggesting that you're heading back down the same road because you're not being combative at all, but like Morgan, you need to recognize that it's over and that you need to let go. What Smoke Screen said is absolutely correct and is backed up the statistics as well as the games themselves.
Not at all. He will get near vet minimum, but his agent will pad it with incentives that he'll never reach, just to report a higher contract value.

Possible, I guess we will see. There always seems to be a team or two who make idiotic moves out of desparation though so I'm still guessing he does better than that in terms of a contract. Regarding the Panthers, does not matter though because I do agree his days in Charlotte are over, and that's definitely for the better at this point.

PS....my postings are more in line with how busy I am and my interest in the topics. I enjoy reading this Board and even when I'm in a time of little to no posting, I am usually still reading. Sure I lost my Morgan arguments when the facts inconveniently got in the way....not thanks to you.....but it really has nothing to do with when or how often I post. I am just a passionate Panther Fan, not a football genious, but I guess that's obvious...
