    Analysis?
I was very pleased with his performance, given the stage, weather. Solid number 2, but I see things in this guy that justifies a starting position. Tremendous footwork, and concise decision making. I like the kid.

Teams are just taking everthing away from the Panthers past 10 yards. They know they don't have anyone who can get deep except Smitty and it's been that way for years.

Short hops were problematic. If he lofts that pass to Smith he goes in for another 6. Wasn't terrible, certainly not as bad as Delhomme has been in most of his games. I didn't think the coaching staff put him in a good place to succeed. He did what they asked him to do and didn't turn it over, FWIW. I have more of a problem with the playcalling than his execution of it.

Lets not forget, the refs pretty much spotted the Pats 7 points before halftime on two bullshit calls.

he definitely deserves to compete for it.
He's got it. He's not in control of it yet, but he's got it. He had problems being spastic early, he threw high then he threw wide for a while. The plays were there at times and he didn't take advantage.
But he had the ability. If he can worry less about the rush and make things happen, I'm good with him. But he's gotta be able to do better with some of the short, likely to convert things we give to him.

I think those things will come with real game experience. And Fox doesn't trust his decision-making.... yeah.... good call, Foxy....

Needs seat time. Damn look at Jake. How many years? Least one could say it is about being together. Throw and catch. Knowing each other. But, then they have have tried to make a superstar out of a nobody. I do not know if Manning could bring us back.

Remember any QB playing for us is going to be handicapped by the playcalling, too.

He should have had at least two picks today, and other than the deep ball for the touchdown I didn't see much that I thought was outstanding. He could wind up being as good as pre-injury Jake, but I think that's his ceiling.

I wasn't impressed with the accuracy at all today. I think what we see is as good as he gets. Better than Jake at the present but I'd not want to settle for him.

I saw plenty of opportunities where we called a good 3rd down play you can clearly see working if the ball simply gets to the receiver.
