Amazingly, we still ran the ball 34 times. We had a shitload of plays from scrimmage. We were flagged 4 times, vs. their 11 (should have been 12 with the cheap shot to Moore's knees, but fuck enforcing rules unless it applies to Brady or Manning).

I think it was all Fox. Hell, I don't doubt Fox called some of the plays himself. Moore, to a large degree (no huddle) was in charge, and fared well.

if we don't get things done with other players, tags will be used for them instead, but if we do get Kalil and DW done, why not a transition tag if he plays well? But yeah, let's finish the other 10 first.

    fair enough.
Whatever did it, he's acting like a QB again, which is all we needed.

Progress finally, took a little help from a shitty QB we used to know but definate progress. Alot of fun watching Gettis and LaFell grow and Matt getting some swagger back.

Next its the Olines turn to get its shit together and we may actually catch up a few games. Otah cant return soon enough IMO (still remembering Swartzy getting bowled over)

Seems like Smitty needs to go back to basics, alot of silly errors from him this year.

Don't get me started on the people who were calling for Pike.

The frustrating thing is that if Moore had come out to start the season playing the way he did yesterday we are at least two or three games better than we are now and still in contention for a playoff spot.

We should have beaten the Saints anyway. The way we punked the Bears QB we probably win that one too if we have a QB who can make them pay for turnovers. The Bengals did not really play well against us either. We could easily be 3-3 or 4-2 right now instead of 1-5. I guess a frog would not bump his ass every time he jumped if he had wings....

it's one game and Moore still sucks

he played a damn good game though... there's a lot of moving parts, the OL protected better, WR's played better... I even thought play calling was better

Football, life. In either, if you harp and regret the past, you will live a miserable existence.

Moore pretty much said it in his presser yesterday: he wasn't nervous yesterday. He was loose, and he was given several weeks to do a little self-study on what he was doing wrong. Some mechanical, some mental. He played horribly in those losses.

I tried to make the point last week that he moved the team very well for the first 30-minutes of our season, and then a lot of "moving parts" from each of the "three phases" began to spiral out of control. Moore was one of those pieces.

Clausen played admirably well vs. the Saints, and almost got us the win. Pike? Yes, that was silly.

Bottom line: the NFL is fucked up. Nobody on this board envisioned David Bowens scoring more touchdowns than Drew Brees prior to Sunday. Nobody predicted Oakland would hang 59--in 45 minutes of play--at Denver.

The NFL has always been full of surprises. This season is no different. The NFC is absolute dog shit, when Atlanta, Tampa and Seattle are the proverbial "cream o' the crop."

I've never been in an NFL locker room, or ever played close to that level. Just taking a wild guess: the players, coaches, staff--they don't ask the same questions that some fans do, like "well, shit, what happened those first five weeks....if only we would have done better here, or there."

Bill Walsh said to be successful in coaching, you have to be a forward thinker. Looking back is only applicable to film study and the learning process. But to harp, and bitch and moan about what is already in the archives is childish.

It's an 11-game season, and Carolina is 1-0. Not without flaws, and not without potential problems ahead. But this ain't XBOX, and you can't hit the reset button when you're unhappy with your performance.

    Move forward.

Let's not also forget the receivers actually catching balls. It makes your passing game much more better when that happens.
