I'm staining a little table that has a wee bit of mold on it from being outside untreated.

Is sanding it off sufficient or should I clorox it and let it dry before staining it? I'm using solid color stain if that makes a difference.

    Thanks:wacko:

    If it is mold..........3

You have already unknowingly inhaled it and it is growing in your lungs. Sorry for your loss.:cry2:

I encountered a bit of mold on the baseboard in the living room I finished painting a month or so ago. I just wiped it off with a slightly damp rag, then painted the next day. So far no problems, don't anticipate any.

Sand off the mold you can see, then spray it with bleach to kill any spores you can't. Make sure it dries well if you're using oil-based stain (which I'd recommend for outside furniture).
