I do not think our defense is that far away from being OK. We have Beason coming back and he is a very good player. He and Anderson being on the field together should help a lot. Gamble is decent at corner if we can find another guy who is solid to pair with him it will help. CJ is a good DE that teams have to account for. If Edwards is back healthy next year the rotation at DT is going to be better.

I think if we get healthy and add another corner and maybe another guy on the DL we can be decent. They will have an entire off season to learn the scheme. I think they never really got it this year due to the lock out.

remind me the biggest thing that changed the year the Saints won it all?

I don't know. I like them both, love neither. I think they're about the same guy, though some have put Claiborne higher right now and some worry that Kirkpatrick won't run as well. I don't worry about that, specifically, but he gets a tiny edge as I feel he's tougher.

    You don't get it...

Where was the Saints offense prior to their defense getting better? IMO we need to get there, finish building the offense. They got Brees, built up the offense then they helped the defense. You could also argue their defensive success was a product of playing with a lead and picking up Sharper.

I know most of the board wants defense. But there's no cant miss defensive player near our spot. There are several good wrs and OL to be had.

My picks for us in order of availability:

    Blackmon- a threat opposite Smith

    Alshon Jeffry- ditto

    Johnathan Martin-Lucks LT

    Reiff solid LT

    Decastro-a nasty G

I'm thinking the WR will both be gone, but I'd take either. I don't think either tackle would be much of a reach here. Decastro is kinda interesting too. I'm not really sold on Otah ever being healthy. I'd love to get a good LT in the draft, move Gross back to RT where I think he's a better player and slide Otah, if his pussy ever heals, inside to RG. I'd even trade down a few spots to get Decastro and maybe leave Otah at RT. Point being, a dominant O line would go a long way towards helping Cam, DW and JS.

No, you're right, I don't get it. Before the Saints started working on their defense, the best they could do is one year in the playoffs, but now they're staring at a shot at a 2nd world championship.

Our pick isn't even determined yet. It's a little early to get hung up on what won't be there.

    A guard at 8 or 9?

Christ, some people are idiots, but Jesus, that shit takes the cake. Is this argument real? I think someone is trying to be taken seriously. :laugh2:

At this point we can rule out a G, DT, and WR not named Justin Blackmon at #8 or 9 slot.

Decastro seems really good at this point, and I'm not even against a guard at 8/9 if that was the default best player. But to ignore defense because guard is the fifth best player is just beyond my imagination.

The board will change over time. Again I wouldn't get too hung up on who is or isn't a great value at 8/9 yet.

Learn to read fucktard, I said I'd trade down to get Decastro, the guard. Just don't reply to my posts moron. You're too fucking stupid to attempt to analyze anything I have to say.
