Man every Sunday I could watch every game, drink myself to sleep and *still* get my 8 hours.

I need to move out west.

Sounds like they'd be shooting themselves in the foot by taking it away from broadcast networks.

I got mixed views on this topic...

I like the idea of putting Thursday/Saturday late season games on cable, but I think that should go more to ESPN. In return, let NBC pickup the Sunday Night game that ESPN currently has and keep Monday Night Football on ABC.

I also would agree with the idea of having the 2 and 5:15 starting times, but does that also mean that Sunday Night Football won't begin till 9:30? That would really benefit the west coast crowd, but the east coast crowd likely would not stay up till 12:30 or later to watch the end of a game on a Sunday Night, even if it is a feature game on the week's schedule.

The one aspect I totally hate is putting both NFC and AFC on one network. All that does is encourage satellite subscribers to order Sunday Ticket. And if that is to be the case, then the NFL needs to make Sunday Ticket available to Dish Network and digital cable subscribers too, not just Directv. But, I will say this, with tv stations going digital and that being the norm in the next 5-10 years, I could see why NFL would go with the idea of putting all games on one network. As you know, some stations in bigger markets can currently show multiple programs on their digital frequency. When more and more stations go digital and offer multiple screens. then the idea of one network showing all NFL games can be plausable.

now that I think about it...

For the last few years I had thought about how nice the Sunday Night crew would be on MNF, and last year thought they should switch places

If ESPN gets the MNF game, I hope they keep the ESPN crew...
