MNF to ESPN, SNF to NBC?

    There is a strong possibility that ESPN will take over Monday Night Football from ABC because ABC keeps losing money over it. The word was that ESPN and ABC would swap the Sunday night and Monday night packages. Now, it appears that NBC is going to make a strong run at the Sunday night package. That's not all. This article also mentions some radical changes that could take place in the next contract that begins in 2006:

    --The start of the Sunday afternoon games moved back an hour (2 and 5:15). That's good.

    --A cable network such as FX, USA, or TNT airing Thursday or Saturday night games after Thanksgiving. Liking it, liking it.

    --One network taking over the entire Sunday afternoon package currently held by CBS and Fox. WHAAAAAAAT? :shakehead Would this mean only two games per Sunday?

    it's all about cable. espn will raise rates and cable co's will start making espn a premium channel. I heard all this crap on the radio last week....obviously not pack's show.

    Daves right :shudder: They are pushing hard to get Monday night football on ESPN. Heck I just wish they would move it to 8pm instead of 9

    remeber when it came on at 8 one year? I was at alabama and it came on at 7..that kinda sucked. Wish they would move it back to 8 now.

    Imagine how nice it must be to be on the west coast and get to watch football at 10 am on Sunday morning and be done by 9 at night :drool:

    And having to wake up at 7:30-8 AM to watch the pregame shows? Shoot, I have a hard time getting up at 11 on a Sunday :sleep:
