MLB team to fold by Monday?

Fox Sports South is reporting that an unnamed team may not make their payroll on Monday and could be folded as a result.
WIS TV in Columbia says in a followup that another team is in financial straights and may be unable to finish the season.


Boo, I hope you're sitting down, the team FSS mentioned is the Detroit Tigers.

If it is the Tigers, you can forget about new stadium construction for a while. It kind of defeats the we need a new stadium to compete arguement when you have a team fold in less than two years after going into a new ballpark.

I hate baseball. The only time I watched the tigers was 84 (or was it 87?) when they won the world series. Back then the owner was the guy who owned
Dominos Pizza, he sold it to the guy who owns Little Ceasar Pizza, Mike Ilitch.....who also owns the Red Wings.
