    It's beating the system because RPI doesn't correspond with difficulty. They choose not to play solid major conference teams and instead play certain small conference teams because those teams can actually have higher RPIs. Then playing those teams on the road got them bonus points. I mean seriously, how can you look at Missouri State's schedule and say that it was tough at all? If you can't, then their #20 RPI is meaningless and the entire concept of RPI seems to be junk.

    by allowing none of their conference teams to schedule teams with crappy RPI's, everyone's RPI stays inflated. usually, mid majors have good RPI's until they begin play within their own conference. in this situation, since all of the conference teams played teams with good RPIs, no one's RPI dropped once conference play started.
