Yeah, Parcells and Singletary. I wouldn't want Parcells just because I'm still sick of hearing about him. Singletary? Eh.

I wouldn't want Parcells as a coach -- he looked old and tired in Dallas. But he's still a great mind, and has expressed an interest in being a GM. Honestly though, I don't see him ever wanting to come to Charlotte, so it's just a frivolous mention anyway.

Singletary is a gamble, to be sure. He's got what, a year and a half under his belt as LB/Asst HC? He really doesn't have experience, but I think he's got the strong personality, leadership skills, and hunger for excellence that is sorely lacking on Mint Street these days. JMO, though.

Yeah, you had mentioned Parcells for GM, but I'd still be sick of him.

Singletary is an apple off the Ditka tree. Could be something there.

Parcells as a GM either needs someone he really believes in, or not to be GM, because the meddling would happen. I'm fine with that, since I doubt he would hire a guy who couldn't do the job, but who? Al Groh?

At any rate, Singletary's been a coach since 2003, I believe. Was Asst HC since 2005. My biggest concern with him is his contacts - who he knows he can pull in as a coordinator for O/D, since he's been on two staffs and both of them are assumed intact, one of which is consistently raided and the other of which has had coordinator change as well. A great staff is a must anyway, but a first time head coach has to land the top guys (and that's not easy, considering Fox didn't get paid anything as a 1st timer and couldn't land some assistants due to pay).

I assume he has all his shit together, for one knowing who he is, and two, knowing that he was an assistant under Billick, who constantly prepares his assistants.

after watching the Panthers win in STL in the playoffs (when Martz completely mismanaged the game down the stretch), I wouldn't want him running the show.
