Might as well do Tight Ends

    That was not my point. My point is that if we had been able to come up with a viable #2 option in our passing game then we probably do not lose to Seattle. They took away Smith and that is a big reason why they beat us. The same can be said of the loss to Dallas that cost us the division title. I do not think we have to have a tight end but I do think we need to get a better option to help take some burden off Smith.

    I hate to get into hypotheticals like that, since while our passing game struggled, so did, well, everybody.

    I'd love a TE that could push upfield a little more, and has sub-4.7 speed, but it's not a cure-all. The only legitimate thing I could see us going and getting a receiving TE for? playaction fly patterns. Just to be different. I have no idea why we don't already have a TE that can take advantage of the LBs on playaction, because that seems the most natural idea to go with a running game.
