I'm running a trial version just to see if I like it, but can't seem to get connected. I'm not sure what I need to get to the server I need. I keep getting this error message that I can't connect (see below). I'm running Windows XP. Anybody got any ideas what the connection problem is? I took down my firewall and pop up blockers to see if that was it, but no go. Ideas? It's not a "temporarily unavailable" problem, it's something not downloaded or a functionaity issue because I've been getting the same message for days.

It's just an IM program like AOLIM or Yahoo messenger.

How do I do it? I tried, but I couldn't figure it out. The microsoft instructions said there was an option for "configure". I don't see anything on the program. Got a link, or anything, with directions??

We use MS Communicator internally, but we have to configure the settings by typing in a URL for the server address. Look for Options or 'Change Sign-In Account'

I'm not gonna even screw with it anymore - the free trial version, it says there's a free trial server version that goes with it, but even though it says it's compatible with Windows XP, when I try to install the server software, it says my processor type is incompatible with it. No big deal - I'm tired of messing with it. Besides, I wouldn't know the url for the server address, unless the software that won't work is what gives you that address. If they want you to use the shit, they ought to make it more user friendly. I guess they're mainly focusing on businesses. AOLIM and Yahoo and Facebook chat work fine for me.

That's true, but the reason I was trying to use it was to talk to people at work who weren't supposed to be talking to people outside of work. You know, like people at work posting on message boards, what I used to do back when I had a real job :mickey:
