Bell sucked and we paid him 4 mil a year. Oher sucks as much and we give him more? Makes sense.

Despite injuries last year he still graded out better than Bell....although not much.

And of all years to need an OT in free agency....this years class sucks.

Best thing about this deal is it removes the necessity to reach for an OT in the draft and then rush them in before their ready.

A slight improvement over Bell, and I'm assuming the money is very modest. And hey, if a good OT drops to us in the first round and they come in and are ready play then great...but we don't have to reach for a guy now just because we have a hole.

Being slightly better yet far more injury prone than Bell doesn't fill any hole. This is a lottery ticket. The need for a competent LT is just as great now as it was 24 hours ago. I'm fine with the signing as long as 1-2 other guys are brought in to compete for the job and let the best man win.

Id feel a lot better about this signing if we had him at the right side.

Yeah, the issue I have with the signing is that I think Remmers is a swing guy at best. My fear is that Gettleman will have four or five backups competing for the two tackle spots.
