I know next to nothing about Meeks, but I would expect he'll try to incorporate at least a little of Dungy's scheme into our defense. I doubt Fox would let him go pure Tampa 2, though.

He's a solid coach, but this is perplexing if only because his schemes and Fox's schemes don't mesh at all. I hope it means that Trgovac's departure shook Fox up a bit and he's more willing to let his DC handle things, since our defense could certainly use more variety and flexibility. I'm concerned, though, that the two having such dissimilar backgrounds might mean that Meeks will be a glorified DBs coach while Fox handles the defense, not unlike what McCoy is doing under McDaniels in Denver.

I heard from an unnamed source when Del Rio was in Charlotte, he ran the defensive meetings. Trgo would be meeting with the defense and Fox would basically come in and take over. Perhaps Fox never trusted Trgo.

I'm going to be optimistic and think that some new defensive coaching will improve the secondary noticeably. There is talent back there, it just doesn't seem to ever be in the correct place.

    that's pretty realistic.
It's the run defense that will inevitably be...I wouldn't call it a concern but it's where he's had more problems.

the pass defense was awful against the Arizona. our DBs often looked like the three stooges out there.
