Very inaccurate clip. Not one shot of Janet Jackson's dairy during the halftime show.

sure, you're going to gain less yards if you run than when you pass. If we passed a lot on 1st down, people would complain we don't get our two RBs enough attempts.
The two losses? It's the "30 carries" thing again. If you're leading 30 carries is easy. If you're behind 30 carries is tough. We didn't lose because we didn't have enough carries.

We're fine in the middle. Not dominant anymore, but fine. Yes, we're not dominant on the outside either, without Rucker there. But we're still good, and yet this guy isn't talking about how Peppers by himself without Rucker isn't working, now is he?

Now tell me that Jenkins produced more than Rucker. What's that again? Rucker led the team in QB pressures? That's good work, the ability to not go check the team site for a basic statistic. Rucker's supposed broken down, old ass led the team in QB pressures. Jenkins is missed but so is Rucker. Jenkins isn't missed more than Rucker because we also have a rookie FS and they both play "the middle". Our run defense is fine and our pass rush was gonna be screwed anyway.

Fair enough. Baker is average this year and we've had 3 blocks.

    Seriously?

Also, Hackett answered the bell when needed. Jarrett answered the bell when needed. The TEs have come to play when needed. With two RBs and 3rd in rushing attempts, how many fucking balls do you expect we should have on the field? Smith and Muhammad have the lion's share of targets and should. Anything else is going to look silly. Watching the AZ game by itself and saying Moose isn't good enough is fair, if not within the ballpark of correct for the year, but analysis on one game is guessing.

oh yeah, that's right. We aren't running enough. We need to take up 1st and 2nd in rushing attempts, 3rd in rushing attempts isn't good enough. So, 1st by itself won't be good enough - we need to co-copt rushing attempts to a 2nd team so we can have first and second. Then this column will make more sense, right?

    I dunno.

I write a little blurb every week that about ten people look at, and maybe five read. And it's riddled with inaccuracy and just wrong information, because it's really tough to write 15,000 fucking words about another team and not get some of it wrong (besides my natural mistake-prone attention to the wrong details). But it's not wrong because I just decide to come up with something to say because it looks good on a byline, and that sorta shit just makes no sense.

Also the "kill yourself" thing has run its course.

Anyway, it's not tough to figure out five things to be bitchy about. I'll give them special teams.

    so:

2: consistency. DO the same things every game well. Know your weaknesses and work around them. In that, I just mean don't lay down in games, really.

3: pass rush. We used to do this well. Kept us from blitzing. Let's do this better.

4: mental mistakes. We're getting better, but we've had a season's worth of penalties already there. Consider that the way of thinking about it - and then stop giving them penalties.

5: One play at a time. Each is your last. Your life may not depend on this next play, but let's pretend. It'll pay off.

And if you needed 6: anything that happened at Tampa Bay was a mistake. Getting on the field was the only thing that happened right, and let's face it, that wasn't something that takes but so much. So pretending that "x" or "y" has anything to do with Tampa Bay isn't going to let you focus on beating that franchise back to the 1970s on Monday Night Football. Concentrate on Monday Night Football so you can resume beating that franchise back to the 1970s.

In the two losses I dont think the problem was not enough carries, I think the problem was trying to force the run. The panthers often try to use the run to set up the pass, when the opposite works just as well.

This guy is blind if he thinks there is a big hole in our defense Our D has given up 1 touchdown to a halfback all season, and 3 total rushin tds. Look at the list of halfbacks we have faced. Thats pretty impressive.

If we can stop those blocked punts and figure out a good way to attack a mobile QB like Garcia, I think we can do some big things. -- I guess Brees is a mobile QB so maybe they've already figured that out.

Threin lies part of the problem. Opposing teams certainly fear Smith after the catch, but do they fear Jake's ability to throw the ball? Could we spread the offense successfully like Warner did against us?

We have more passing than we've seen, yes. We're going to give a lot of touches to the backs so even in what some would call a shootout like AZ we're not going to be putting up 45 pass attempts. We could've abused NO's DBs all day, and didn't need to. We could've passed more on a number of teams, and when we've needed to, we've been able to answer the bell for the most part.

Got to remember how throwing the ball a lot affects the defense. Some of those up the gut run plays serve little purpose other than setting up play action and running clock. Part of Arizona's problem last week was a gassed Defense in the 4th quarter.
